On our sixth week, we headed to Nashville, TN to join a similar program to KSSP called CSS (Camp SummerSign) through Brentwood Baptist Deaf Church in Brentwood, TN.

Welcome to the website for the
Kentucky Signing Summer Program!
A summer program uniquely for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing children and youth, their siblings, and CODAs, ages 5 to 17, in the Bowling Green, KY and surrounding areas
This summer of 2009 was our inaugural year and we made some WONDERFUL memories!

WHO WE ARE
Elizabeth & Josh Bruffey - Camp Founders/Directors
Elizabeth grew up in a hearing family and began studying ASL and Deaf Culture as a college freshman. From there, she immersed herself in the Deaf community. She attended Gallaudet University and she got her master’s degree in Deaf Studies/Cultural Studies. She is passionate about strong families and the rights and potential of Deaf children! She is strong in her convictions of the value of Deaf people. She wants to give back to the Deaf community that has given her so very much as her friends, mentors, and teachers! She is an RID certified interpreter and currently works as an educational interpreter in Bowling Green, KY.
Josh grew up bilingual with two Deaf parents American Sign Language and English. His mother travels the world serving the Deaf community. His father worked for over 30 years through the Home Mission Board as an evangelist, serving as the chaplain at Gallaudet University. His father was known all over the world as someone who invested his life in the advancement and empowerment of Deaf people. Josh has his parents’ passion for serving Deaf people and their families. He currently attends Southern Seminary in Louisville, works as a sign language interpreter in TN, and is the part-time pastor to the Deaf congregation at First Baptist Church, Bowling Green.
